REELECT County Judge

Judge Stephanie Silver has been a County Court Judge since July 1, 2019. She is currently assigned to the County Civil and County Criminal divisions at the Miami Beach Branch Court. Judge Silver hears thousands of cases related to insurance coverage, landlord tenant disputes, creditor and debtor cases, foreclosure actions, false advertising allegations, and ordinary disputes between persons and businesses. In her criminal docket, she hears criminal traffic and all misdemeanor cases. She has had as many as 12,000 cases assigned to her at any one time. Judge Silver is known for her attention to detail, her preparedness for each hearing, her response time, and for her efforts in hearing matters as quickly as possible.

 

 

Prior to her appointment to the bench, Judge Silver was an Assistant State Attorney with her last assignment being the Chief of the County Court Division. She also served in the felony divisions, the Gang Prosecution Unit, and the Public Corruption Unit. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her law degree from Florida State University.

 

Judge Silver is very active in the community serving as a member of the Miami-Dade Bar Association, the Cuban American Bar Association, and the Miami Beach Bar Association. She serves on the Judicial Advisory Board for Kidside, helping children in high conflict family court cases receive necessary services for court in Miami-Dade County. She regularly speaks on a wide range of topics for bar associations.
